I'm Jarrett.
For over 15 years, I've been passionate about shedding light on systemic violence against hidden vulnerable populations, such as boys, young men, and gender-diverse individuals. I've worked primarily in the international development sector in post-colonial settings and have dedicated my work to researching exploitation and violence.
I believe social research can be a powerful tool for liberation, and I'm committed to advocating for the inclusion of lived experiences in research. I'm passionate about addressing the gap between people and policies, ensuring that those affected by violence and exploitation have a voice in shaping knowledge and solutions.
Together with like-minded individuals, I co-founded the up! Collective (alongside our parent organization, up! International), which aims to build grassroots systems that place the experiences of vulnerable individuals at the center of social research and development. I'm on a mission to create positive change and make research more impactful and relevant to the lives of those affected.
